Lord Enma's Court

You have been chosen by the gods to view this page, hidden away like a government official's dirty little secret.

    The Lordlings

The Lordlings are the other kings of hell (since Enma is referred to as "Lord", this gives them a sense of importance without diminishing Enma's place as the highest ranked individual in hell). While a few of them wear uniforms (although in black rather than green), the majority wear more traditional clothes, most of which are Chinese or Indian-inspired. They have power over "misbehaving" gokusotsu.
There are two groups of lordlings. The first group corresponds to lordlings in charge of trials taking place before souls are sent to the afterlife or the path of reincarnation that's appropriate for them. The second group corresponds to lordlings in charge of giving a chance to atone to the souls who end up in Jigoku.

    First group
  • ‣ Lordling Shinkou, judge of murderers.
  • ‣ Lordling Shokou, judge of thieves.
  • ‣ Lordling Soutei, judge of the lustful.
  • ‣ Lordling Gokan, judge of liars.
  • ‣ Lordling Hensei, relocator of souls.
  • ‣ Lordling Taizan, giver of last chances.

    First group
  • ‣ Lordling Byoudou, first appeal (100 days after death).
  • ‣ Lordling Toshi, second appeal (1 year after death).
  • ‣ Lordling Tenrin, third appeal (2 years after death).
  • ‣ Lordling Renge, fourth appeal (6 years after death).
  • ‣ Lordling Gion, fifth appeal (12 years after death).
  • ‣ Lordling Houkai, sixth and final appeal (32 years after death).
